Petro-Points | Terms & Conditions

Petro-Points can be earned on all travel products, although Petro-Points may not be eligible on certain promotions that are available from time to time. Petro-Points are earned at a rate of 10 points per dollar spent excluding Petro-Points redemptions, taxes, service fees and penalties. This rate may change without notice. Petro-Points are deposited into the member’s Petro-Points account within 10 days of payment. Certain travel products sold by itravel2000 do not require payment at the time of booking. Examples include rental cars, some activities and some hotel rooms. Petro-Points earned on these non-prepaid products are credited to the member’s account 60 days, or longer, following the completion of their trip.
Petro-Points can be redeemed on all travel products excluding taxes and service fees. Petro-Points may not be eligible on certain promotions that are available from time to time. Petro-Points are redeemed at a rate where 10,000 Petro-Points are equal to $10. This rate may change without notice. Petro-Points can only be redeemed in increments of 10,000 points. The customer must provide a valid credit card (a Canadian or US Visa, MasterCard or American Express card) at the time of booking. itravel2000 will check the members Petro-Points balance before processing the transaction. In the case where insufficient Petro-Points are available when the transaction is completed, itravel2000 will charge the member’s credit card for the balance and charge a 5% administration fee.
It is the customer’s responsibility to identify themself as a Petro-Points member at the time of booking to earn or redeem points within 7 days of booking. For some travel products the customer may need to call itravel2000 to complete the booking.
Only one Petro-Points card can be used on a booking.
If Petro-Points vouchers are being redeemed, a maximum of 5 vouchers can be used on a single booking. As with redeemed points, vouchers are only applicable to retail price and any cancellation penalties but excluding taxes and service fees. A cheque for the value of the redeemed Petro-Points will be issued within 21 business days of the transaction date. The cheque will be issued to the lead party at the address given at the time of booking.
When Petro-Points are redeemed in an online vacation booking, the amount of the redemption will be deducted from the total transaction value. For all other bookings, the customer’s credit card will be charged for the full value of the transaction, and a cheque for the value of the redeemed points will be issued within 21 business days of the transaction date. The cheque will be issued to the lead party at the address given at the time of booking. If Petro-Points are redeemed against a trip deposit, a cheque will be issued to the maximum of the deposit value.
In the case of a cancellation all Petro-Points earned on the booking are removed from the member’s Petro-Points balance. In the case where sufficient Petro-Points are not available in the member’s account, the member’s credit card will be charged for the value of the Petro-Points deficiency. Petro-Points are not earned on cancellation fees or penalties. Any Petro-Points remaining after a cancellation can immediately be applied to a new booking or can be converted to an itravel2000 gift certificate, with a minimum value of $10.
By participating in this program the member agrees that information and data will be shared with Petro-Points.
