As a Petro-Points member, you can collect and redeem points on your next trip. When booking any vacation package, flight, cruise, hotel or car rental, you will collect 10 points for every $1 you spend and can redeem 10,000 points for $10 off your next travel purchase.
How many Petro-Points will I earn by booking travel?
Earned points are calculated on the base price (excluding taxes and fees) of your purchase, less any redemption amount and/or discounts at a rate of 10 points for every $1 spent.
Once I make a booking, how soon will I get my Petro-Points?
Your account will be updated within 2 to 4 business days from the booking date, regardless of whether you paid in full or simply put down a deposit.
I just made a booking and my points balance didn’t update on the itravel2000 site. Why not?
The points balance displayed in the odometer on the itravel2000 site will always reflect the current balance in the Petro-Points database. Any change to your points balance resulting from a transaction on the itravel2000 site will be updated within 2 to 4 business days.
What about bonus points? How long will it take for those to be added to my account?
For bonus points, the amount of time it takes to be reflected in your account varies by promotion. Please allow for three weeks from the end of the promotion for the update to occur.
Can I book travel for other people and still collect/redeem points?
Yes you can however you must either one of the travellers, the person paying for the trip or the billing contact on the booking in order to collect or redeem points.
My name on my Petro-Points account is different from my passport – which one should I use when booking?
On all bookings, each passenger’s name must match their passport. To simplify matters, consider updating your Petro-Points account details to match your passport.
How do Petro-Points redemptions work?
For most pre-packaged bookings, the value of your redemption will be discounted from your booking immediately. For all other bookings, you will be charged for the full amount of your purchase and a bank e-transfer will be issued for the value of your redeemed points up to 21 business days after the departure date. The e-transfer will be sent to the email address on file.
What happens when I redeem Petro-Points on a deposit booking?
If the value of the redeemed points is less than or equal to the deposit amount, the redemption will be processed immediately; if you are redeeming more points than the deposit amount, the redemption will be processed at time of final payment.
If I don’t have my card number at the time of booking, can I add it later to collect and/or redeem points?
Petro-Points collection and redemption is only possible at the time of booking and cannot be added to your file at a later date. Please be sure to have your card number handy when you book!
Can I earn and redeem Petro-Points from multiple cards?
You can only apply one (1) Petro-Points card per booking for collection and redemption and they must be either a traveller or payor.
I redeemed Petro-Points for itravel2000 vouchers. How many can I use on a single booking?
You can redeem up to 5 Petro-Points itravel2000 vouchers, however, must all be taken from the same Petro-Points card number. Please ensure that you have the Petro-Points card at the time of booking.
