San Francisco Flights
With two centrally located International airports, finding San Francisco flights is relatively easy … insert a huge sigh of relief here!
Less than 21kms from the downtown core, the San Francisco International Airport is the primary choice for travellers to San Fran. It is the second busiest airport in California, behind the Los Angeles International Airport and the twentieth largest airport in the World. Airlines serving the airport include an array of Charter and Scheduled carriers. Canadian Charter Company WestJet operates a seasonal service from Canada (select departure cities) running from the end of April to the end of October. Service with WestJet is available on a daily basis, with multiple departures each day. Depending on which Canadian gateway you are departing from, your WestJet flight may have a connection. These connections are typically through another major Canadian city, but speak with our Travel Experts for full details on these potential connections. Additionally, Air Canada, American Airlines, US Airways, United Airlines and many more operate between Canada’s largest cities and the San Francisco International Airport. No matter which airline you choose for your San Francisco flights, getting from airport to city center is easy. BART rapid rail links the airport and San Mateo County, San Francisco and the East Bay. The SamTrans buses provide a connection between the airport and San Mateo County, San Francisco and Palo Alto. Within the airport, the Rental Car Center provides quick and easy rental options from the majority of the World’s leading rental companies.
Oakland International Airport has become a popular alternative to the hustle and bustle of the San Francisco International Airport. Smaller in size, but big on service, the Oakland airport is located less than 45kms from downtown San Francisco in the central business district of Oakland in Alameda County. Unfortunately, at this time there are no Charter Air Carriers providing service from Canada to the Oakland International Airport. However, many Scheduled Air Carriers do operate this service, including US Airways, United Airlines and Delta Airlines. Transferring from airport to city is fairly easy with BART rapid rail links, Amtrak and Car Rental options available from within the terminal or nearby.
