Making hotel reservations in Oahu is easy! From the resorts of the legendary Waikiki Beach to the laid-back vacation home rentals on the North Shore, there is something for every type of traveller and every type of budget on the Island of Oahu.

The vast majority of the island’s hotels and resorts can be found in Waikiki, a neighbourhood in the capital city of Honolulu. Here, travellers will find great variety in the accommodation offered, with everything from sprawling beachfront resorts to budget-friendly hotel chains, vacation condo rentals, vacation home rentals and even hostels. Waikiki boasts that every one of its hotel rooms is no more than two or three blocks from the beach, a great feature for any vacationer. Be warned though, Waikiki can be an expensive destination to stay in. You will need to book well in advance to guarantee the best price and availability.

The North Shore, which is famous for its surf beaches and surf competitions, is home to one luxury resort, the Turtle Bay Resort. Additionally, many vacation home rentals and vacation condo rentals can be found in remote areas and in the historic surf town of Haleiwa.

On the Leeward Coast, in the Ko Olina Resort area, two very famous resorts can be found: J.W. Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa and, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. New to Hawaii, the Aulani gives vacationers a little taste of Disney, Hawaiian style. Experience the service and imagination that Disney is known for within 50,000 square feet of eco-friendly indoor and outdoor resort space. The five star luxury resort boasts 830 guest rooms and villas, and is ideal for everyone from families, to couples, groups and travellers who are young at heart.

It may come to you as a surprise, but camping is a very popular alternative lodging choice for many travellers. Throughout the island there are many specified sites that offer camping opportunities five days a week, from 8 a.m. on Friday to 8 a.m. on Wednesday. It is important to note that campsites are not open on Wednesdays and Thursdays, as these days are reserved for maintenance. Some campsites are only open on weekends, others only open during the summer months, while some only open during the winter months.
