It may come to you as a surprise, but camping is a very popular alternative lodging choice for many travellers. Throughout the island there are many specified sites that offer camping opportunities five days a week, from 8 a.m. on Friday to 8 a.m. on Wednesday. It is important to note that campsites are not open on Wednesdays and Thursdays, as these days are reserved for maintenance. Some campsites are only open on weekends, others only open during the summer months, while some only open during the winter months.
