1. Pack smart: Go light! Pack the essentials in your carry-on luggage – it will help in the times when you arrive early for hotel check-in, or if your luggage is lost or arrives late. Check the weather at your destination and pack accordingly - arriving ill-equipped isn’t a pleasant thing to happen. The forecast calls for snow, but what about free trips?
Thousands of Quebec travellers may get lucky again to win free vacations on New Year’s Day from itravel2000, a leading Canadian online travel retailer, if Mother Nature cooperates. The Company had given away free trips to thousands of Quebec participants in 2007, who had booked their winter vacations availing its "Let it Snow" promotion; the annual promotion enables participants to win free trips if it snows more than 5 inches on January 1st.

Weather Gods have itravel2000 praying for over 5" Snow on New Year’s Day
itravel2000, a Travelzest company, is keeping a close watch on weather forecasts anticipating over 5” of snow on New Year’s Day. Thousands of Canadians that have booked with the Company will no doubt be doing the same as 5” of snowfall on January 1st could win them free trips.
Those that booked their trips between August 15, 2011 and October 3, 2011 with the Company availing its “Let it Snow” promotion, one of Canada’s largest travel promotions, will get their trips for free less taxes.
On December 22,, 2011, the Weather Network was forecasting snow for the “Let it Snow” qualifying weather stations of Calgary and Montreal on January 1st, whereas rain showers were predicted for those of Toronto and Halifax on its “14-Day Trend” widget.

Unseasonal warm weather deprives itravel2000 customers of free vacations
(TORONTO, ONTARIO) January 11, 2011 – itravel2000, a Travelzest company, reported that there were no free vacation winners for its Let it Snow promotion as none of the designated weather stations received over 5” of snowfall on January 1, 2011.
“We were thrilled to have our customers win free vacations in the first two years of Let it Snow. With so many big storms in early December we were getting very excited – unfortunately for the second year running Mother Nature just didn’t cooperate”, said Stuart Morris, Group Vice President of Marketing, Travelzest.
itravel2000 customers who booked a qualifying vacation by September 15, 2010 to travel between November 1, 2010 and April 30, 2011 would have received their vacation for free, if it had snowed more than 5 inches on January 1, 2011. The company would have given the winners back the retail cost of their trips less taxes.
itravel2000 also provided Price Drop Protection with the Let it Snow promotion as an additional benefit. itravel2000 customers who booked a pre-packaged vacation could receive a reimbursement cheque, if the prices had dropped 31 days prior to their vacation.
The Let it Snow promotion did not have any winners in 2009-2010 as none of the designated weather stations reported more than five inches of snowfall. In the first year of the promotion, participants in Quebec got free vacations with more than 5 inches of snowfall at the airport in Montreal; whereas participants in Atlantic Canada won their trips with more than 5 inches of snow at the Halifax International Airport in the second year of the promotion.

Canadians Willing to Get Naked to Travel According to New Survey
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 6, 2010) - itravel2000, a Travelzest company (AIM:TVZ), reported that Canadians are in favour of major airports across Canada installing the full body scanners in order to beef up security measures. Through the itravel2000 Vision Critical panel, 73% (n=403) of respondents said that they are in favour of airport scanners that would show the naked body to airport security but will blur the traveller's face. In addition, 95% of respondents said that they still plan to travel over the next 12 months. itravel2000, a Travelzest company, and the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Inc. (‘Orlando CVB’) are proud to announce their participation in a celebration for this year’s World Smile Day on October 1st. In honour of the day, Orlando enthusiasts from across the globe gathered in Orlando, Florida to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Smiley Face.
To mark the day, itravel2000 held a contest asking consumers to tell them “How Does Orlando Make You Smile?” for the chance to win a trip to Orlando and participate in the festivities. Testimonials came from across Canada, and 14 winners were chosen based on how Orlando makes them smile.
Every entry was a true telling of how a previous trip to Orlando, either by car or plane, was etched into memory as having made them smile. Some families spoke about hilarious road trips across the border, travelling 2,100 km from their home in Ontario, all the way to Orlando. Others shared childhood memories of Orlando and their wish to see their own children and grandchildren experience this too.
Volunteers from across the world gathered early on October 1st to be assembled into the largest smiley face for the record-breaking event. The current Guinness World Record for the largest smiley face includes 261 people. Caribbean Sun Seekers bask in lower prices again this Winter for all inclusive vacations
TORONTO: Following the Conference Board of Canada’s report on the average price of all-inclusive package vacations to the Caribbean, itravel2000, a Travelzest plc (AIM:TVZ) company, has recorded a continued fall in prices for Caribbean vacations. The recorded fall follows a pattern that started with the financial crisis two years ago. Many industry observers expected that prices would recover this year, however this does not seem to be happening.
With continued surplus availability of airline seats to the Caribbean and the ongoing competitiveness between tour operators, consumers looking to travel this winter are seeing lower prices for package vacations being promoted by suppliers much earlier in the season than normal. itravel2000 is seeing savvy Canadian consumers seizing on this trend and snapping up package vacations at these lower prices.
One glance at itravel2000’s Best Price Calendar shows that you can go to a 4 star resort in Cuba for between $257 and $385 in November. This year Cuba has the lowest package prices, followed by the Dominican Republic and Mexico. While prices for Jamaica, which is more expensive than the traditional big 3 Caribbean destinations, have reduced the most compared to last year. Shoppers who procrastinate are likely to discover that the best resorts are sold out or are selling at higher prices in the coming months.

- Canadians soaring on the wings of the strong Loonie
itravel2000, a Travelzest company, has seen an improvement in international bookings in the Canadian market on the wings of the strong Canadian dollar. Simply put Canadians are taking advantage of their tremendous buying power in the UK, Euro-zone and the US.
The UK
The Canadian dollar goes further in the UK this spring than it has any time since planes started flying tourists across the Atlantic. Not too long ago it took $2.50 to buy a Pound Sterling. Right now it costs only $1.55 to buy a Pound Sterling.

In 2009, Canadians made 700,000 trips to the UK, down 7% from 2008 (Conference Board of Canada).
The Euro-zone
In 2009 it took as much as $1.70 to buy a Euro and during the year Canadians made about 2 million trips to Euro countries (Conference Board of Canada). Now it takes only $1.40 to buy a Euro. This 20% improvement in the buying power translates into cheaper flights, hotel rooms and restaurant meals. Bookings to the hardest hit economies, Spain and Italy, are the early winners as hoteliers struggle to off-set soft domestic demand.
The USA
Nothing gets Canadians across the US border like a strong Canadian dollar. With the Canadian dollar worth $0.98 Canadians are feeling rich and heading south.
Jonathan Carroll, added: “It’s an ideal situation for Canadian travellers. The Loonie is strong and the US economy is still recovering – as a result we’re seeing average room rates down 20% in destinations like Vegas.”
In the first few months of 2009 the Canadian dollar was worth about $0.80 USD. The Loonies purchasing is up about 20%.

(TORONTO, ONTARIO) January 6, 2010 – itravel2000, a Travelzest company, reported that this was the first year since the inception of the Let it Snow promotion that there were no winners since none of the designated weather stations received over 5” of snow.
The Let It Snow program was to reward qualifying participants with a free vacation if it had snowed more than five inches on January 1, 2010.
“It’s unfortunate that this year we were unable to award free vacations to any Canadians. Canadians cheering imminent snow on New Years Day!

Mississauga/On, November/5/2009/Marketwire - itravel2000, a Travelzest company has once again come out, this time supporting Westjet and the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies' (ACTA) in their call for greater transparency in taxes and fees that are being charged for vacation packages. Tour operators inflated taxes as a scheme to advertise low base prices. This is not the first time that itravel2000 has gone public with their dismay of travel advertising practices. In August 2008, a petition initiated by itravel2000 received over 22,000 signatures in response to their desire to have airlines advertise the final price that customers pay rather than advertising the "taxes" which can sometimes be more than the base fare that is advertised. "It's not fair to the consumer to have a misinformed representation of what the price breakdown is. When you purchase anything else from a retail outlet, you expect the base price and the tax that is in line with the individual provinces" said Stuart Morris, VP of Marketing at itravel2000. What is REALLY Happening in MEXICO?
The Mexico Tourism Board and itravel2000 have partnered to launch a consumer-to-consumer web blog to address confusion over recent media reports of one of Canadian's most favorite tourist spots.
Toronto/ON, March/23/2009/PR Direct/ - Today the Mexico Tourism Board and itravel2000 announced an innovative program to address the confusion created by recent media reports about Mexico.
In the past weeks, reports of problems in towns on the U.S. and Mexico board relating to Drug Cartel violence created a perception with consumers that all of Mexico, including favorite sun and beach destinations were all dangerous to travel to even though the destinations like Cancun and the Riviera Maya are over 3000kms away from the affected border cities.
To address the confusion, a project entitled 'What is REALLY Happening in MEXICO?' has been launched that features an independent regular traveller, Scott Sheehan, visiting popular destinations in Mexico and interviewing real consumers on their experiences. Interviews, pictures and stories are hosted on a web blog www.whatisreallyhappeninginmexico.com
‘We the tourism board can say it's safe to travel to Mexico, but consumers are looking for an unbiased opinion. This initiative lets real people share with other people the realities of what is going on in Mexico right now!' stated Alfonso Sumano, director for Canada of the Mexico Tourism Board.
The Mexico Tourism Board is encouraging all industry partners to promote this link on their websites and to their clients to help clarify what is really going on in Mexico, real-time.
