South Greater Fort Lauderdale is bursting with beautiful beaches, nature, gaming and culture. Hollywood Beach is home to one of the top rated boardwalks in the US. Stretching for two-and-a-half miles along Hollywood Beach, the boardwalk is lined with open-air cafes, an organic farmers market and charming local shops. Along the Intercoastal Waterway are many opportunities for hiking, birding and kayaking. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach and Mardi Gras all have great nightlife options when staying in the South.
The West region of Greater Fort Lauderdale is known for many things, including wildlife. The Five Star Rodea, Flamingo Gardens and Everglades Holiday Park are all great outdoor experiences. Sunrise, a town in the West, is where the NHL Florida Panthers play hockey and the legendary outlet mall Sawgrass Mills Mall is located.
