Most people travel to Florida for fun in the sun and with hundreds of beaches lining both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, Florida is the perfect place to enjoy just that. Whether you are looking for peace and quiet or sports and entertainment, you are sure to find the beach that suits you. Fort Myers Beach is a great place to catch up on some reading and work on your tan. Daytona Beach is the place for spring break fun seekers and is always full of action while Clearwater Beach is ideal for family fun. Florida is known not only for beaches but the rare and exquisite beauty of its everglades forests. A must see on any vacation to Florida is The Everglades National Park. The Everglades is the only sub-tropical wilderness in America. With more than a million and a half acres of protected wetlands, Everglades National Park is home to a vast number of wildlife, insect and plant species. Take one of the many tours that are offered through the park for a chance to catch a glimpse of alligators, panthers, egrets, herons or maybe even a manatee or American crocodile, both of which are endangered species living in the Everglades. Another great place to experience Florida’s beautiful outdoors is the Florida Keys with lots of opportunities for eco-tourism, snorkelling and fishing.
Of course Florida is famous for its amusement parks which are great for ‘big kids’ too. Walt Disney World is the most famous park and the ‘happiest place on earth.’ With rides, restaurants, tours and shows you can find something new to do here everyday. This is yet another great place not to forget your camera because who would want to miss the opportunity to have their picture taken with Disney’s most famous resident, Mickey Mouse! Walt Disney World has six different theme parks for you to explore with accommodations right in the parks. For the big kids and the daring, take the plunge on the Hollywood Tower at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is thrilling and a ride you won’t ever forget. Other parks you should definitely visit on your fun-filled vacation are Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, Sea World, Universal Studios and Gatorland all in Orlando. And that’s just a few of them.
Florida is home to more than 900 golf facilities and more professional golfers than any other state. So of course Florida has great golf. It also hosts PGA, LPGA and Champions Tour events. This is your chance to golf with the pros or at least test yourself at their level. Golf skills not quite up to par? Well don’t worry. With that many courses there are plenty of options to challenge every skill level. Speaking of sports, Florida also has nine professional sports clubs which include three NFL teams, two MLB teams, two NHL teams and two NBA teams. Take in a game; it is a great way to spend a day no matter what season.
Now that you have plenty of ways to spend your days, how will you spend your nights? Florida is full of fantastic places to dance the night away or relax and enjoy some live music. However, the capital of nightlife in Florida is Miami and South Beach. South Beach’s Design District is definitely the place to find a chic party and live music. It is also the place to find Hollywood’s in crowd enjoying the local night life. Don’t forget your camera. Downtown Miami and Coconut Grove are also great places for nightly entertainment and are beginning to rival South Beach in popularity. Your entertainment options are endless in Florida. Sun, sand, adventure and fun - Florida has all you could ask for and more in your perfect vacation.
